1. Rochester and Rutherford Hall have created three new staff positions
Deputy Principal
Office Manager
Property Manager

All three positions had a large field of applicants and interviewing of short listed applicants is about to take place.


2. Examination Results Semester One

Examination results were excellent and it was pleasing to see the benefits of in hall tutorials. The average GPA for students at R and R was 5.97. In 2010 this figure was 5.12 and in 2009 4.56. 6 students are being awarded Academic Distinction Scholarships (GPA of 9.0) and 29 students are being awarded Academic Merit Scholarships (GPA between 8.0 and 9.0)

Rochester and Rutherford is a Hall of Residence associated with the University of Canterbury. It provides accommodation for 178 men and women, both undergraduates and graduates, in a collegiate setting.

The Hall prides itself on its food, facilities, community life and academic achievement.

There are three residential houses - Fisher, More and Wilson - plus the adjacent Ashby building, which contains the dining hall, common rooms and chapel. There are also tutorial, music and computer rooms within the Hall.

The buildings are set in 1.25 hectares of attractive park-like surroundings with space for outdoor recreation as well as quiet spots.
