Our Governance
Rochester and Rutherford Hall operate under an independent governance model, combining leadership from the Rochester Trust Board (Catholic) and the Rutherford Trust Board (Methodist, Presbyterian, and Baptist churches).
In 1984, these boards united to create an ecumenical governance structure, supported by a combined Council of volunteers with professional expertise in Law, Finance, Education, Engineering, and Health.
The Principal reports regularly to the Council and Trust Boards, ensuring that all hall operations comply with Health and Safety standards and pastoral care legislation. Members of the Trust Boards serve voluntarily and remain deeply committed to the success and wellbeing of Rochester and Rutherford Hall.
We are proud to foster a vibrant, inclusive community where learners thrive and contribute meaningfully. Our dedicated staff play a vital role in shaping a culture of growth and development. Working as a team, they build strong relationships that extend beyond the Hall - creating educational and global connections that last a lifetime.
We take seriously our responsibility to provide a Hall that meets the New Zealand Code of Pastoral Care, safeguards academic integrity, and equips students with the skills to manage independence while living and learning.
