Our Governance

Rochester and Rutherford Hall has an independent governance structure. There is an executive council made up of 8 members nominated by both the Rochester Board and the Rutherford Board.  In 1984 the two boards combined creating an ecumenical governance structure. Rochester Board (Catholic) and Rutherford Board representatives from the (Methodist, Presbyterian and Baptist churches) operate in a voluntary capacity with professional backgrounds in Law, Finance, Education, Engineering and Health.

The principal of the hall reports to the executive council and both boards.  Residents and tutors will meet board members at formal dinners and other occasions throughout the year.  Members of the board are voluntary and committed to making Rochester and Rutherford Hall the place to be.
